Diana Jane creates photographic images that have an ethereal quality and are akin to a watercolour painting. Diana Jane tries to capture the essence of time and memory within her work. The subject of memory is complex and ever changing, layer after layer memories are made, lost and altered, stories are created and invention becomes reality. The final images represent a blurring of boundaries between reality and fiction. Everything is real but all is imaginary. Diana Jane has a BA Hons in Photography and an MA in Fine Art.

I paint abstract, passionate paintings influenced by the mysticism of my home country Iceland. I am particularly fascinated with texture and the variations in depth and dimension that allow my paintings to come to life: evolving and reacting to changes in light. I layer paint, with Icelandic lava dust to create a hard, rough texture and with salt that flowers into beautiful crystals. All meet in my paintings, creating contrasts of softness and beauty.
