Description
For all their passing resemblance to beech, hornbeam are decidedly more subtle. Autumn demonstrates this vividly – if these were beech trees, they would be dancing a tango in the vivid red of their last-fling-foliage. But hornbean lean and smile and dance a slow dance together, dressed in an unexpectedly tasteful combination of apricot and lime.
