Turquoise Wave VIby Catherine Kennedy
Original oil painting inspired by the coastline of South Devon and Cornwall.
“Turquoise Wave VI” is inspired by the coastline of South Devon and Cornwall. It shows a large wave cresting, lit by the sun turning the water turquoise and emerald green. The time of day is key here. It is midday the wave is lit a bright sun and the sky is cerulean blue. The highlights in the painting are mixture of turquoise blue contrasting deep marine and indigo blue sea. The foreground shows sea-foam rising up and under the wave.
