SHIPPING INFORMATION

WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING COSTS?

Shipping costs will vary as they are based on the shipping destination, as well as the weight and size of your artwork. Although some artist may choose not to include the shipping cost for their artworks, most will. You are able to contact the artist through the contact box on their profile to discuss shipping costs.

CUSTOMER SHIPPING ADDRESS

Always ship to the address provided

Contemporary Art Fairs requires all shipments to be made to the address provided. Please do not ship your artwork to another address without first consulting our team at info@contemporaryartfairs.co.uk.

Where do I find my customer’s shipping address?

  1. Login to your vendor account and go to your dashboard
  2. Go to your Products> Pending orders
  3. View details and shipping address on the order’s page.

Authorise change of address

Should you have any concerns about the address itself or your customer has requested the artwork to be shipped to an alternative address, please contact us at info@contemporaryartfairs.co.uk before you ship.

HOW DO I HANDLE SHIPPING?

You are responsible for fulfilment of your orders.  Customers are charged the shipping amount indicated on your listings and you will receive this when your order is paid out.

For good customer service, only artworks that are ready to be shipped should be listed, unless you specify a longer delivery time on the listing, so your customers know what to expect.

The customer will pay for the shipping of returns to you,  in the event of a cancelled order.

HOW LONG DOES DELIVERY TAKE?

As all artworks sold on Contemporary Art Fairs are shipped directly from the artist/gallery, delivery times can vary. Find out how long it will take for the artist to ship your artwork by clicking on the ‘Shipping’ info below the Artwork image in the Artist’s Store.

HOW IS MY ARTWORK SHIPPED?

All artworks sold on Contemporary Art Fairs are shipped directly from the artist or gallery. Packaging, courier and services (such as insurance on shipment) used will vary from piece to piece.

To find out how your Artwork will be shipped, check Shipping information on the Artwork listing.

PACKAGING & SHIPPING GUIDELINES

Prints & Photographs

Lower value prints can be rolled in a tube:

  • Use a sturdy mailing tube over 2mm thick and a few inches longer than the width of your poster to avoid denting or damage in transit. Use a tube with sufficient diameter to avoid rolling the print too tightly, to prevent damage.
  • Place your print in the centre of lightweight, acid-free paper around 30cm longer than the print lengthwise and equal to the inner length of your mailing tube width-wise, then place acid-free tissue paper just larger than the print on all sides on top of the print.
  • Fold the excess paper beneath the bottom of the print upward and press down so the bottom edge of the print is resting in the fold.
  • Gently roll the piece upwards to a diameter just smaller than that of your mailing tube.
  • Carefully insert the rolled print into the tube. The roll should fit within the length of the tube to prevent movement during shipping.
  • Top the tube with its end cap and secure the caps on both ends with tape.

Works on paper

Send higher-value prints flat-packed in a reinforced envelope

  • Wrap the work in acid free tissue paper. Plastic covering can be used for further protection.
  • Use corner protectors for each of the corners of your work, then tape the protectors to a sturdy piece of cardboard or foam core.
  • Place two or more pieces of firm cardboard on either side of the work and tape both sides together.
  • Fully wrap the piece in a thick layer of bubble wrap.
  • Enclose the bubble wrap parcel with two pieces of corrugated cardboard for an outer cover. Ensure that edges of both pieces are securely taped together with no gaps.

Larger objects and framed works

Larger objects should be packed in a cardboard box or a wooden crate.

  • Use a box or crate with 3-5 cm of space on each side of your work.
  • Wrap the work in acid free tissue paper. Plastic covering can be used for further protection.
  • Wrap the piece in at least two layers of bubble wrap and secure with tape. Ensure that the corners of the piece are sufficiently padded to withstand impacts.
  • Place foam around the artwork and include additional packaging material to ensure a snug fit within the box, with no movement.
  • Particularly valuable, large or fragile pieces should be shipped in a custom-made crate.

Delivery

  • All artworks should be sent via a fully traceable and insured method of shipment
  • For artworks being shipped internationally, a service with Delivery Duty Paid is advisable.
  • All declarations or accompanying paperwork must be complete and truthful, including the value and purpose of the shipment

Contemporary Art Fairs returns process

  • The customer will pay for and arrange the return of all artworks under our 14-day returns guarantee, if they change their mind or the artwork is not what they expected.
  • We ask for all artworks to be returned in the original packaging. We accept no liability for damage sustained on the return shipment for artworks not packed according to these guidelines.
